Unlike Allston, Brighton is fairly quiet, especially at night. The neighborhood, which is primarily populated by graduate students, young professionals and families, consists of an intricate network of streets lined with houses and small apartment buildings. Local family businesses mix with national chains of pharmacies and banks along Brighton's main drag, Washington St., which runs straight through Brighton Center to Oak Square.

The Cleveland Circle neighborhood offers access to the Green B,C & D "T" Lines, as well as shops, restaurants, bars, a movie theatre and the Reservoir, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a City of Boston Landmark. The Reservoir is a nice inner city escape for joggers, bike riders, etc.

Washington and Commonwealth is a nice location for some students and young professionals. Some of the reasons that people choose this neighborhood include easy access to a supermarket (Whole Foods), great Tappas food (http://www.tascarestaurant.com/) and the close proximity to the "T"

Oak Square is an even quieter, more residential section of Brighton that is often a good choice for young professionals due to it's convenient location, parking and proximity to the City. The "T" doesn't run through Oak Square, so most commuters opt for the 501 Express Bus, which takes around 1/2 the time to get Downtown then it would take on the "T" from Allston. Please Note: The range in prices is a result of size, amenities or location. A $800 studio is going to be on the smaller side and is priced accordingly. Conversely, a $1000 studio might have a spacious alcove or have more desirable amenities such as a dishwasher or a renovated kitchen and bathroom.
